What Am I Even Doing: OPERATION COOLNAME PART3: The Mechanics...finalized

Evoke {cost} (You may play this card by paying {cost} rather than paying its mana cost. When this permanent comes into play, if its evoke cost was paid, its controller sacrifices it.)

Presence as such seems weird, I’m not sure if it’s meant to be like Undying/Persist or like Soul Seizer, is the aim to have things change type and functionality or just GAIN the enchantment type?
Since Tumblr isn’t letting me answer you for some reason:
It would be like windborn muse becoming ghostly prison instead of dying (though that would be too powerful for an actual card). It ceases to be the type it was, and becomes an enchantment like any other enchantment. it keeps its name, mana cost, color, subtype, and any abilities it has not related to its type (creatures lose the ability to attack and their power and toughness, lands cease to produce mana because of their basic subtypes, etc)I see, seems interesting, I know there’d be few problems with comprehension, because you’d have to remember what has been presenced, but it could offer up some cool things.
I like the idea of Presence flavor-wise. But I think that effect was somewhat hinted on with Soul Seizer. I think Presence would work on other creatures, similar to the essence cycle from Saviors of Kamigawa. Whereas the creatures in that cycle were legendary, these guys could be like…I don’t know…monks…yeah… that like, when they die, leave a bit of themselves behind. So I guess now, your card turns into a cycle of flip cards like Seizer. You could give them a cool effect, give them Presence, and when they die, their effect is weakened. Could balance it more… I’m just gonna make one up off the top of my head. Let’s use our example of Dreamborn Muse for a starting point.
Isolated Monk 2WW
Creature-Human Monk
Presence (When this creature dies, transform it)
Only one creature may attack during combat
Only one creature may block during combat
2/2
(flip) Isolated Presence
Enchantment
No more than three creatures can attack during combat.
I have never really made cards before…so please bear with me. I like the idea of Presence. Once it’s ironed out, it’ll be fun!
I like the idea, but flip cards and DFCs are really mechanically difficult, and I’d like to avoid them if possible. However, the memorability problem is one that needs to be fixed; Presence should probably involve a counter
Presence (When this permanent would be destroyed, if it’s not an enchantment, put an essence counter on it. As long as it has an essence counter on it, it is an enchantment instead of any other type.)
Not to get nitpicky, but wouldn’t it trigger if it was in the graveyard with its current phrasing? Counters don’t matter in the graveyard.
I recommend this (replacement effect):
Presence (If this permanent would be destroyed, if it’s not an enchantment, put an essence counter on it instead. As long as it has an essence counter on it, it is an enchantment instead of any other type.)

Not a fan of using counters. Flip seems like the way to go. It’s already established for this mechanic, after all.

I think DFCing would actually make it simpler. New counters are a bit wordy. I have more to say but I’ll put in your ask. =)
