Liquimetal Coating + Master Thief

I have found a thread on tappedout talking about it and everyone is saying you keep the permanent.

I think I’m just going to email Wizards about it and get an official answer because it doesn’t seem like many people know one way or the other for sure.

Although I would bet money on the answer being yes, you can keep it.

It only matters as long as the target permanent that Master Thief is an artifact at the time that Master Thief enters the battlefield. What type-changing effects happen to that permanent later doesn’t matter - you get to keep it.
