Things that confuse/d me about Magic (currently or in the past)
- Difference between spells and permanents
- Protection and how it works in combat
- LAYERS (and on a lesser note: copy effects and replacement effects)
- Banding
- Dance of the Dead
- Equipment and Shroud
- Damage does not reduce toughness (in most cases)
- Sources of abilities and abilities from those sources are independent from each other
- Flipped cards in Kamigawa are a state (like tapped, untapped, flipped face down), transformed cards are not a state change, and Morphing is a special action that doesn’t use the stack.
- When you can use Planeswalker abilities
- Should I tell him/her about that missed trigger that’s optional? (Current ruling, no, you don’t have to)
Argh. And many more to come I’m sure.

Good reminder that Magic is a hard game. Even though I know protection and could explain it to you, I still screw it up in the course of games. Layers with copying effects still confuse me.

Fuck Morph not using the stack. I hate that and it is bullshit especially with the counterspell and copy creatures.

As it stands now you don’t even have to point out “Must” abilities. It’s a little grey, but if they miss one and you are fine with it, you don’t have to signal it. If you do point it out, they have to do it though.
