A Few M12 Spoilers
We’ve got a few new Magic 2012 card images from top8magic.com! Let’s see how they look. First up we’ve got two aggressive black cards.
These two cards actually work great together. Tormented Soul isn’t very good by himself, but with other Bloodthirst cards it can be useful in a Limited environment. Duskhunter bat is a very solid common too. It may not be quite as good as Stormfront Pegasus, but it’s still a very good pick.
Next up we have three vampires. Sengir Vampire, is a reprint, and will probably be one of the best uncommons available in the set. Bloodrage Vampire is OK, but not a card I would be excited about playing. The best he could be is a 4/2 for 3, and without evasion that’s not really going to cut it. Vampire Outcasts is a little bit more solid. It’s an uncommon, but a 4/4 Lifelink for 4 is pretty powerful. It sort of reminds me of a poor man’s Batterskull.
Here we have 2 white cards. Gideon’s Lawkeeper is pretty powerful. It’s simply just Goldmeadow Harrier, except that Lawkeeper is human instead of a Kithkin. Great Limited card. Gideon’s Avenger is a really cool rare. We saw this before, but it’s an interesting card. It may even have usefulness in Standard as a sideboard card against aggressive decks.
Phantasmal Bear is an OK as a Limited card. I’m not quite positive that I’ll always be happy to play it, but it’s worth trying out.
Last we have some M12 boosters. We see some new art for Garruk and Chandra, as well as an unknown blue card. I guess it COULD be a new sphinx planeswalker, but I feel like Jace Beleren will be back. We’ll have to wait and see on that one.
