A likely unpopular opinion:
The Dragon’s Maze prerelease, since I was playing Dimir, felt to me more like “Gatecrash+”. It didn’t seem like there was enough to be different. I can assume if I went Izzet, it would feel like “Return to Ravnica+”.
I enjoyed the air of celebrating and competing with fellow guildies and opponents, and the social aspects were all there. It just didn’t feel like there was much of a third set in there.
Financial Predictions for Dragons Maze by Craig Wescoe - Magic the Gathering TCG Article
Wescoe makes his predictions on the secondary market of Magic, predicting the strong leaders are cards like Voice of Resurgence, stating that it will “see play in Legacy, Modern, and Standard.” On Ral Zarek, Wescoe believes that there is “enough value to merit a strong impact on Standard and subsequently a high demand.”
By nature of Fuse spells, I think Dragon’s Maze sealed will be a tad slower.
But considering it is the small set, that remains to be seen. Having removal from both RtR and GTC… We’ll see!
That Lex Luthor submission got me pondering…
I think Sherlock Holmes is a black-blue hero. He’s self-interested and honestly was always kind of an asshole to everyone. I’ve heard him aptly described as “only interested in dealing with the rest of the world when it presents him as opportunity to prove how much smarter he is than everyone else”. Blue’s curiosity and intellect with black’s seclusion and focus on the self. Thoughts?
